A exhibition quality and very stylish George IV davenport in beautifully figured rosewood, having green tooled leather writing surface and swivel top which open to reveal cedar line interior with small drawers and inkwell drawer to side above a 4 cockbeaded and gradated mahogany lined drawers, all fitted with original turned knobs, standing on plinth base and original brass castors. This superb quality davenport retains its original finish which has been revived in our workshop, all in beautiful original condition (with replacement leather) ready to place at home. Miles and Edwards are recorded in The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers at Oxford St. premises between 1822 and 1840. Their clients included the British Ambassador to Paris and the Empress of Russia. Commissions in the UK included furniture for Audley End House in Essex, Hampton Court, Burton Constable in Yorkshire, and Wynyard Park in County Durham.
