Sn5417 Fine quality late Victorian open bookcase of break fronted design, having figured mahogany top with satinwood crossbanded and vase inlaid centre, satinwood inlaid frieze depicting vases, harebells and swags and bows all above three open sections fitted with height adjustable shelves and flanked harebells inlaid pilasters, all standing on moulded plinth base. This antique bookcase retains its original finish which has been revived and waxed, all in excellent home ready condition. Bears Edwards and Roberts label. c1890

Edwards & Roberts were founded in 1845, and had premises at 21 Wardour Street London. By 1892 they occupied more than a dozen buildings in Wardour Street, where they continued to trade until the end of the century. They became one of the leading London cabinet makers and retailers working in a variety of styles, both modern and revivalist. Edwards & Roberts specialized in marquetry, inlay and ormolu.

Alternatively, you are more than welcome to come and collect your purchase in person. We love to see our antiques leave us in the safe hands of their new owners, though again we must mention that you will be taking responsibility for any ensued damage once it leaves our premises.

Returns

If for some unlikely reason you are not happy with your purchase, we offer a full refund policy. We only ask that you inform us by telephone or email within 48 hours of receiving your package, if you wish to return it. We will then arrange a courier to come and collect it, the cost of which will be deducted from your refund. The furniture must arrive back to us in the same condition that it left us. We deem this to be an unlikely situation though and anticipate that you will be as delighted with your purchase as we are in seeing it safely sent to a new home. Then, you can sit back and enjoy it.
